Excerpts from Chapter 7: Tactics and Propaganda of Modern Liberals

It is incumbent on Modern Liberals to keep class antagonisms and grievances alive in order to maintain their very existence. One inextricable part of their credo is fomenting class hatred. The power and importance of Modern Liberals would diminish if they lost their assurance that they are needed to “right wrongs,” so they must keep screaming and yelling about “injustice” and “oppression,” inventing new ones as needed. The result is that Modern Liberals will always be at odds and in conflict with the existing culture and common sense.

Modern Liberals are quick to typecast anyone who disagrees with, or even questions, them as “intolerant.” To Modern Liberals, “intolerance” does not mean putting up with something you do not like; it means not kowtowing to their values. Modern Liberals abhor real tolerance because it denies that they are the voice of the downtrodden and oppressed, the liberators, and the truly tolerant. Tolerance means to endure something one does not like or of which one does not approve. To Modern Liberals, tolerance means fully assenting to what they deem “worthy” and even celebrating it. If someone rejects their misconception and distorted ideas of tolerance, that person is branded as contemptible, having a false consciousness, or being a reactionary who wants to bring back an ugly American past.

Modern Liberals excel at demonizing people who object to their agenda, and they have a multitude of disparaging sobriquets from which to choose in their lexicon to brand individuals or their ideas. For example, if you invoke love of country or declarations of patriotism, you are likely to be branded as benighted, a jingoist, a war-monger, or as simply unenlightened. Any opposition to the anti-free market agenda of Modern Liberals is considered by them to be a demonstration of intolerance, selfishness, avarice or ignorance. If you question any part of Modern Liberal programs for the putative “poor”—whom they profess to rescue—you will be branded as a person who wants to keep them permanently in abject poverty.

Modern Liberals have special terms they like to use. Examples are exploitation, diversity, full access, peace movement, public service, greed, imperialism, ruling class, poverty, perceptions, root causes, old fashioned, and stereotyping. Gary Younge, writing for Nation magazine and disparaging those not in accord with far-Left positions, used a plethora of special terms, saying dissenters have a “peculiar blend of paranoia, mania, fantasy and misanthropy,” and also added the labels of “birthers, Swiftboaters, climate change skeptics, Obamaphobes and Palin-tologists.”40 The tacit implication is that if you are not in agreement with Modern Liberals, you possess the negative qualities of the terms. For instance, if one criticizes the peace or environmental movement for the extremism of either, then one is, by implication, against peace or protecting the environment; or, conversely, one supports war or is complicit in raping and destroying the environment
